Ryse Son Of Rome For PC

Ryse Son of Rome for PC

Ryse Son of Rome

For those of you who do not know, Ryse Son of Rome is an Xbox One exclusive with a great cinematic third person gameplay. The game has been confirmed to come for PC on October 10 2014. There is absolutely no doubt that every PC gamer (including me) is excited for its release but there is more to it. The game will be able to run at 4K resolution which the Xbox One gamers could not enjoy.

That does not mean that all PC gamers will be able to enjoy the game in 4K. Playing it in 4K would requires you to have a great deal of expensive hardware installed on your computer.

I personally think that Ryse Son of Rome should have remained a Xbox One exclusive and should not have come for PC. I know you probably want to kill me by now but I have a valid reason for saying that.

Why it should not have come to PC

In my opinion crytek should have kept Ryse Son Of Rome a Xbox One exclusive. One of the main selling points of consoles over PCs are exclusive titles. Many people tend to buy a console just to play a console exclusive.

One of my friends specifically bought a PS4 just to play Infamous Second Son. If I were to buy a PS4 it would also be just to play killzone. However, if I get to have those games on my PC I would not give a damn about buying a console. We have seen in the past as well that some of the Xbox One exclusives made their way to PC sometime later. That is where PlayStation 4 takes the edge and keeps great exclusives to it self.

Though this decision entirely remains with Crytek, Ryse Son Of Rome coming to PC is not a good thing for Xbox One in a way. Either Crytek should have previously announced that a PC release is due or kept it a Xbox One exclusive.

Game producers keeping exclusives to their respective consoles and not porting them later for PC keeps the competition high. Greater competetion among developers means better quality of games for multi-platforms. Obviously, this judgement of mine is not limited to the release of Ryse Son of Rome for PC only but I wanted to share my views using the late port of Ryse as an example. Do share your opinion.
