The nVidia rival for the same buck ?

In terms of price there is no rival for this card by nvidia. The much cheaper titan black gpu ($1100) features less memory (6 GB) compared to the 295 X2’s 8 GB.

If you can afford and you are not specifically a die hard AMD fanboy, you could pay double the amount ($3000) and buy the Titan Z GPU with a huge memory of 12GB. The R9 295 X2 seems like a sensible purchase if you can afford to buy it and only if you have planned an extreme gaming rig. If you still play on a simple HD resolution and have efficient cooling installed on your current gaming PC I would advise you to go for something less than the $1000 bill. In my opinion any GPU beyond the $1000 mark is meant for 4K gaming only.
